Women Living will include keynotes presentations by River Huston, an award winning poet, journalist, public speaker, performer and activist, and Dr Kimberly Smith, HIV specialist at Rush University Medical Center. Ms. Huston travels through the United States speaking on issues related to HIV/AIDS, sexuality, self-esteem, alcohol abuse and body image. Dr. Smith, a board member of the HIV Medical Association, has lectured extensively on HIV disease as it relates to women of color.
The conference will also feature nine workshops ranging from nutrition to spirituality, from dance to the latest on HIV medications. Women Living is supported through an unrestricted educational grant from Abbott Virology. |
